PNEUMATICS

The DISCOVERY I PNEUMATICS MODEL D1000 provides the student with a training experience in the basic principles and laws of fluids, which govern the operation, and application of pneumatic devices. An additional electro-mechanical side panel provides advanced application circuitry that allows the student to explore automated systems. Students learn graphic symbols and schematics and methods of notation, which are used in pneumatic diagrams and formulas. The unique design supplies a fill range of testing Instrumentation and components as found in industry. Components are panel mounted for ease of circuit set up and operation. Because of the panel mounted components, inventory and security are insured. All components are fitted with quick disconnect fittings and require no tools to complete circuits. The system is capable of interfacing with outside sensors as found on the DISCOVERY VIII FIBER OPTICS system or any 12 VDC input. The program can be expanded with the optional D1005 modules that will address AIR BRAKES, AIR MOTORS and POWER GENERATION. A flexible, comprehensive courseware program is supplied that provides a 7, 10, or 15-day course. When the optional D1005 modules are added, the program is extended to 23 days. The program includes pre and posttests, student worksheets, lab inquiry sheets, word inquiry worksheets; quiz worksheets and instructor's guide. A Computer Aided Instruction (CM) program is available as an option.

Specifications

The D1000 Pneumatic trainer shall provide a hands-on training experience in the technology and applications of pneumatics. The system consists of a portable mainframe instrumentation panel; side mounted electro-mechanical panel, components, and accessories. A 7 to 10 Day Plus courseware package shall be included. A reprint release is granted to the purchaser for all courseware.

OPTIONAM MODULES

D1002 FLUID POWER APPLICATION MODULE

The Dl 002 Fluid Power Application Module is a scale replica of a construction road excavator that has been fitted with industrial cylinders, directional and flow control valves. The module provides 6 hours of hands-on application experiences for the student that truly bridges the gap between theory and practical applications. The DISCOVERY I trainer is required to operate the D1002 module. The drive controls, tracks, and lighting system are operated by an on-board 12 VDC power supply. Maximum pneumatic operating pressure is 40 PSI. Together with the DISCOVERY I, students will apply their pneumatic skills to the operation and circuitry of a real industrial application. All components, electrical connections and airlines to operate the system are included. A student guide and worksheets are included.

D1005 ADVANCED PNEUMATIC APPUCATION MODULES

The D1005 package includes two modules that mount in place of the electro-mechanical panel on the D1000 trainer. The modules address AIR DISC BRAKES, AIR MOTORS, POWER GENERATION (Alternative Energy) and AIR BEARINGS. A comprehensive courseware package is provided and adds 8 hours to the pneumatic program. The student will explore advanced industrial applications using pneumatic components and their relationship and ability of generating electrical power. A digital multimeter and all testing devices are supplied.
