The Model LE 8010 auto-ranging laser power meter comes complete with two standard probes. A thin optical probe is provided for normal measurements. A dedicated optical sensor embedded into a MD disk increases mechanical repeatability enabling quick, accurate measurements. For most MD applications, it is not necessary to remove covers from the unit under test to check for the proper laser output level during playback or record modes of operation. The meter is ideal for measuring laser diode power at 780 nm on both CD player and MD recorder and players. The 10-milliwatt range enables confirmation of actual laser power during MD record mode. The power meter is auto ranging with a 3 1/2 digit digital display to speed measurements. The unit operates from a standard 9-volt battery and has a low battery indicator.
