LEADER UPGRADES HDTVDIGITAL/ANALOG WAVEFORM MONITOR
Hauppauge, NY, April 1999... Leader Instruments Corporation has upgraded its award-winning HDTV Digital/Analog Waveform Monitor with a new version, the LV 5152D, that operates in both 720p and 1080i systems.
Extensive monitoring functions include waveform (YCbCr or GBR), vector (choice of electronic or external graticule), picture and stereo monitoring. All observations are presented with the unbroken clarity that only CRT displays can provide. Line-select, precision cursors, menu control of digital and analog setups and storage of ten front-panel setups round out operating features. The LV 5152D accepts two SDI inputs switchable from the front panel and provides a buffered SDI output from the feed selected. Input selection includes one 3-wire analog input. Decoded pix monitor outputs may be set to either YPbPr or GBR. White phosphor CRT is provided; green phosphor is optional.
Of particular value is the error detection system that spots CRC errors in video (Y and C), audio and ANC data. The time of first error is shown along with total error count and time elapsed from the first error to facilitate BER determinations.
LEADER UPGRADES HDTVDIGITAL/ANALOG WAVEFORM MONITOR WITH DATA READOUT
Hauppauge, NY, April 1999... Leader Instruments Corporation has upgraded its award-winning HDTV Digital/Analog Waveform Monitor with a new version, the LV 5152DA, that operates in both 720p and 1080i systems, and adds the ability to monitor digital data at all lines and addresses.Extensive monitoring functions include waveform (YCbCr or GBR), vector (choice of electronic or external graticule), picture and stereo monitoring. All observations are presented with the unbroken clarity that only CRT displays can provide. Line-select, precision cursors, menu control of digital and analog setups and storage of ten front-panel setups round out operating features. The LV 5152DA accepts two SDI inputs switchable from the front panel and provides a buffered SDI output from the feed selected. Input selection includes one 3-wire analog input. Decoded pix-monitor outputs may be set to either YPbPr or GBR. White phosphor CRT is provided; green phosphor is optional. Monitoring facilities include data capture that is triggered by selected line number or detected error and reads out hex data for the selected line and addresses. A reading of serial data signal level, given in terms of equivalent cable length from an ideal source, aids in evaluating SDI conditions. Of particular value is the error detection system that spots CRC errors in video (Y and C), audio and ANC data. The time of first error is shown along with total error count and time elapsed from the first error to facilitate BER determinations.
MULTI-FORMAT HDTV GENERATOR
Hauppauge, NY, April 1999 ... Leader Instruments Corporation announces the release of a new multi-format digital video generator, Model LT 441D that complies with fourteen system formats described in SMPTE standards 260M, 274M and 296M. The list of system formats in which the generator operates is as follows:
SMPTE SYSTEM
REFERENCE NOMENCLATURE
260M 1920x1035/60 2:1
1920x1035/59.94 2:1
274M 1920x1080/60 2:1
1920x1080/59.94 2:1
1920x1080/50 2:1
1920x1080/30 1:1
1920x1080/29.97 1:1
1920x1080/25 1:1
1920x1080/24 1:1
1920x1080/23.98 1:1
1920x1080/48 2:1
1920x1080/47.95 2:1
296M 1280x720/60 1:1
1280x720/59.94 1:1
The LT 441D provides three SDI outputs and includes eight channels of embedded AES/EBU digital audio in compliance with SMPTE 299M. In addition, six channels of AES/EBU digital audio are available in stereo pairs from three dedicated BNC connectors. The generator genlocks to tri-level sync as well as NTSC or PAL black burst and offers advance/delay settings in the ranges of – 0.5 H and – 100 lines. Outputs include tri-level sync, horizontal and vertical drive. Test signals include 100% and 75% color bars, 100% and 50% flat fields, line sweep, multiburst, bowtie, ramp, shallow ramp, stairstep, pulse/bar, 100% red field, dot/crosshatch, the pathological check field (complies with SMPTE RP-198) and a new monoscope pattern to aid in resolution measurements. Two dynamic tests to aid in compression evaluation include a moving target with adjustable speed and direction and a pattern-switching mode with selectable sequence and dwell times. Additional features include a twenty character programmable source ID and RS-232 remote control of format, pattern and audio status selection.
