Designed for cable installers, the LF 941 measures signal levels in broadcast VHF/UHF as well as standard cable channels for the U.S. and other countries. An EPROM/PLL synthesizer forms the basic tuning system and provides simplified operation with soft key up/down selection in 1- and 10-channel steps. Attenuation and level scaling is automatic and a single key toggles between video and sound carriers. Touching VHF/UHF or CATV during power-up sets the unit for broadcast or cable operations. A large easy-to-read LCD shows precise signal level, the engineering unit employed and video or sound carrier status. This is augmented by a graphic display of relative signal level for antenna adjustments. Sound monitoring is provided at a phone jack with volume control and an on-screen graph of volume level. Auto power-off at selectable time intervals helps to conserve battery life.
