Model LT 5910 monitors all aspects of the digital data stream, reads out signal status and errors in EDH and gamut. Three monitoring modes are provided. The MONITOR mode shows all operating conditions in real time and reads out errors (in red) as they occur. The WATCH mode operates in similar fashion but locks the readings when errors occur so that time of error can be noted and details of those errors found. The LOG mode logs errors as they occur and lists time of day and the nature of errors found. More than a monitor, the LT 5910 is a valuable source for systems checkout, which uses a frame store technique to edit actual in-frame data on a pixel-by-pixel basis. Any pixel in the frame may be addressed and the data altered in hex form. This results in a user-programmable source for simulating error in any aspect. A rear-panel SERIAL output jack provides a reclocked serial feed of the selected A or B serial input. This jack also is the source of edited frame-store data when data out is selected. Other output jacks include decoded analog Y/COMPOSITE (composite NTSC when D2/D3-type signals are being processed), decoded Cb and Cr when 4:2:2 signals are being processed and COMPOSITE SYNC. An ERROR jack provides contact closure for remote alarms, and a PRINTER connector sets up the feed for hard copy documentation. A SETUP mode guides you through all functions being monitored, limits set and alarms established. The START mode operates under conditions set by the operator, displaying a simple status board with easy access to expanded details such as: complete EDH status with actual CRC codes and flags, 16 channel audio status and full-frame data readout. Stored data may also be edited. An LCD color display helps highlight edited parameters and shows errors in red. Advanced "eye-pattern" displays help establish data stream quality and facilitate level, rise/fall time and jitter tests. The LT 5910 is shipped ready to install into a half-rack adapter. For stand-alone use, order the carrying case (with feet and carrying handle) Model LR-2427I-U.
