MECHANISMS - APPLIED PHYSICS

The DISCOVERY III MECHANISMS.... MODEL D3000 integrates the technology of mechanisms and the science of physics. Students experience the true meaning of mechanical advantage while performing multiple activities and relate this technology to everyday life and work experiences. Unique in design, the test panel is motor driven and promotes student understanding of mechanical and motor powered drives, pulley assemblies, gears and inclined planes by demonstrating each of these mechanical devices. The science and theory of gyroscopes are also addressed. All components have a self-contained storage area for ease of operation and security. The DISCOVERY III provides adjustable gear mounting posts, pre-mounted pulley assemblies, a motor driven drive gear assembly and more than 36 working components. The entire system was designed to provide the student with a hands-on experience in the technology of mechanisms. A comprehensive and flexible curriculum is supplied that provides a 7, 10, or 15-day course. The program includes pre and posttests, student worksheets, lab inquiry sheets, word inquiry sheets; quiz worksheets and instructor's guide. An optional Computer Aided Instruction (CAT) program is available to record and manage the student's progress.

Specifications

The D3000 Mechanisms trainer shall provide a hands-on training experience in the technology and science of mechanical devices. The system shall consist of a portable main frame instrumentation panel, components and accessories. The curriculum shall be a 7 to 10 day Plus courseware package that grants a reprint release to the purchaser.

Main Frame

The 18 gauge welded steel mainframe provides an instrumentation panel that houses and supports all main components. The instrumentation panel must have adjustable gear mounting posts, pre-mounted pulleys, motor driven drive gear assembly, on/off switch and indicator light and safety shield.
