HYDRAULICS D2000 shown with optional module D2001 The DISCOVERY II HYDRAULICS.... MODEL D2000 provides the student with extensive hands-on experience that addresses the principles and applications of hydraulic technology. All components are pre-mounted for ease of operation and security and have ball check quick-disconnect fittings to keep oil leakage at a minimum. A self-contained centrifugal pump and oil reservoir are supplied along with all required ball-checked quick disconnect hoses. The system utilizes industrial components, which enable students to record realistic test data and experience the actual results of hydraulic principles. The entire system was designed to provide the student with a comprehensive and flexible curriculum that includes a 7, 10, or 12 day or hour program. Subjects explored are graphic communications, compressibility of fluids, hydraulic physical laws, control valves, cylinders in a circuit, flow-thru effect on a circuit, force-pressure-area relationships, hydraulic levers, sequencing cylinders, hydraulic pumps and much more. By adding the D2001 optional module, the program is extended to 16 to 20 days or hours and addresses industrial applications such as hydraulic lifts, electric solenoid valves and problem solving. All curriculum programs provide pre and post tests, student worksheets, lab inquiry sheets; quiz worksheets and instructor's guide. Specifications The D2000 Hydraulic trainer shall provide a hands-on training experience in the technology of hydraulic devices. The system shall consist of a portable main frame instrumentation panel, components and accessories. The curriculum shall be a 7 to 10 day Plus courseware package that grants a reprint release to the purchaser. Main Frame The 18 gauge welded steel main frame provides an instrumentation panel that houses and supports all components that are hard mounted and identified to insure security and ease of operation and inventory. All components shall be fitted with industrial grade quick disconnect fittings that allow oil hoses to be connected and disconnected without the use of tools. The system shalt include a self contained centrifugal pump system and oil reservoir with an easy fill cap. The pump shail~ have a relief line and be set at a maximum of 25 PSI to insure classroQm and student safety. The system is a free standing module that combines new and exciting applications using many of the components found on the D2000. The D2001 requires the power source and components of the D2000. The student will experience the actual operation of a forklift system and incorporate many new components into various hydraulic applications. All components are industrial grade to provide the student with realistic results as found in industry.
